Climbing Ben Nevis Mountain, Scotland

On top of Ben Nevis
Taking a break
Beautiful view

Nov 2011, I flew to London From Kota Kinabalu, stayed overnight in KL at my niece's place in Serdang. The next morning I was excited to catch my flight going to London at KLIA. It was 13 and half hours flight and of course very tiring. The purpose to go back to London was because I had to present my master's dissertation at the international conference in Brighton. Well, it was great experience meeting with many professors, phd students and outsiders who have years experience in e-Learning. I will let you all know how the presentation went in my next post. After the presentation I had meetings with Prof.Reyer who is my potential PhD supervisor. All worked well! Great!

Anyway, few days before I flew back to Kuala Lumpur, I had spare time and decided to climb Ben Nevis mountain which is the higest peak in Scotland (and UK). It wasn't as tough as Kinabalu mountain but it has its strength. The route wasn't very steep but guess what it was fuc**ng cold. It was really cold. I remembered, when i took off my glove on top and my fingers were in pain!! Because of the coldness!! Very cold indeed. I thought it was about -7C..Fuh!!!! But it was really great! the view was spectecular! It was 5 hours and 30 minutes climb up and another 5 hours down! So in total 10 hours and 30 minutes.

Climbing Ben Nevis Mountain, Scotland

This is the summit

Don't fall down lol

It looks beautiful and there's still snow on it even though it's summer already

On the way climbing

It's a long route

View from the hotel

Last week a friend of mine went to Scotland to climb Ben Nevis mountain which is the highest mountain in the UK. He did invite me to go with him but i was a bit busy for a good bye party for a friend of mine who will be leaving UK soon. So i can't make it. So he climbed the mountain on his own or maybe with his other friends. He drove from London to Scotland which took about 8 hours driving. Huh!!! It's actually very tiring because i remembered i drove the car last year and it was quite tiring driving 8 hours. Anyway, last Spring i just managed to stand in front of this Ben Nevis mountain but didn't climb it as we climbed the other mountain called Ben Lawyer. When he was climbing the mountain, from time to time i sent me few pictures via his iPhone to my email (i don't have iPhone or blackberry LOL!).

Looking at all these pictures make me feel like "I WANT TO CLIMB THE MOUNTAIN BADLY". According to my friend we will be climbing Ben Nevis this coming weekend and i just cannot wait for it.

North west visit in Scotland

Lake and its beautiful mountain and forest

You can see the river on the valley

Another lake with its hills and mountain

This is the lake surrounded with mountains

Just imagine driving and in front of you is a beautiful view like on the picture

These are my pictures in Scotland. That time i was very nusy doing my master's project but
for some reasons i still managed to climb a mountain and visited few places in Scotland such as dankel, Ben Nevis, Skye and fourth william. There places are hidden beauty of Scotland. Once again you need a friend who know about these places. Ha..ha...ha...otherwise you will ended up in Edinburgh which is the capital city of Scotland. Well, if you are into city then Edinburgh is actually an ideal place for you but if you like both like me, i will spend my time in the city and also in the country side. I love both city side and country side. Anyway we went to north west Scotland and not many tourists know these places unless you have friends. These places are probably among the most beautiful places i ever been. I have been dreaming to go places like this but when i was in KL and Penang i never had the chance. All i can see is the pictures. But i had the chances and i used it. These places show they have mountains, rivers, lakes and beautiful forest as well.

P/s: Seriously breathtaking.........never seen these view in flesh. All i've seen before were pictures of these sort of beautiful views but never in real. But since i come to the UK in 2009 I decided myself to explore it. Found it and as i said before breathtaking!!!
